"Australian trainers in high demand thanks to 10,000km research task"
#PokemonGO: I am one of the admins of an Australian pokemon go international friends group on facebook and wanted to share something cool? Astonishing? Weird? Fantastic? In order to obtain eggs for the 10k regional trade task people from all over the world have been asking for Australian friends. We usually get maybe a hundred new members a week from outside Australia but we have been inundated with over 2.5k members in the last 7 days. And of the nearly 14 thousand current group members only 1,700 are from Australia.Totally unexpected and we do not have enough Australians to keep up with the demand. We put out an SOS to the main trainer groups in each state to ask more Aussies to come on board and help out and they have but it is not enough. Everyone has been so patient with waiting for more Aussie trainers to appear but the heat is on as there are so many people who have not completed their tasks yet.Fot us admins it has been quite hectic.. approving people is almost full time, moderating posts etc but also quite a positive experience getting to participate in an international event in such a different way. What have I learnt from this?hmmm... well I am not sure that Niantic have thought through the real world implications for something like this. I know I certainly didn't so i am going to be more aware in future in case something like this happens again.i have also learnt that if one is in demand one should not post their trainer code for all to see lest one be inundated with hundreds of friendship requests!i have learnt that there is joy and satisfaction in helping a world full of people, something i never imagined would be possible. Here ends my tale. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2oOq2fD
