"The Ground Meta (Ft. EP Flygon) vs Legacy and Future Tier 5 Raids - DPS Spreadsheets"

#PokemonGO: https://ift.tt/33hnHc7 (A black line means a gap of skipped pokemon)tldr:Across possible re-release or upcoming tier 5 raids, current ground attackers are subpar. Flygon with EP is no exception.By far one of the best case scenario for ground attackers would be vs Raikou and even then Flygon is far from optimal (even Mewtwo as a generalist has higher dps than flygon in this case, although worse tdo). The ground attackers are not only outperformed by expensive/legendary options but also by basic/budget ones like Machamp, breloom, flareon, etc.Only Excadrill and Groudon/Garchomp can realistically have some use (the latter mostly because of great bulk). If for some reason you don't have access to any better ground attacker, my best advice is to get your flygons with the CD move, but don't power them up until its strictly necessary.Landorus (unreleased) is on another level, it would be the best ground attacker by far and unlike the rest it would perform as a top counter.I ran the simulations again with different moves (not shown in the pictures) and Garchomp with a potential Earth Power community day would outperform Excadrill but still falls behind Landorus. It would require an unreleased move like Groudon's precipice blades to be op and get it at or above Landorus level.---------------------------So we know that Flygon gets Earth Power making it around the 8th (6th if only released pokemon are considered) best ground attacker at Rhyperior level. That's not too bad... or is it? Well, we know how Flygon positions in the ground typing, but how does the ground typing position in Pokemon Go?The only case where Ground is exclusively super effective is againts electric, and across all 5 generations the only legendary/mythical pokemon that is only weak to ground is Raikou. Why is this relevant? Because ground pokemon/moves currently released in pokemon go are overall bad, so in any case that a pokemon is single weak to anything other than ground the former will be a far better option.I used the Gamepress DPS spreadsheet to see the performance of all pokemon vs former and upcoming tier 5 raids that are weak to ground. Showcasing the best dps options', some ground types', and flygon's positions. In conclusion you shouldn't bother too much with flygon for PvE as in getting a full team or spending much dust. Get your shinies/hundos and be happy, evolve some flygons for the CD move but dont power them up unless its strictly necessary. You probably saw that its not that bad across all ground attackers, but it's still suboptimal and whenever it could be useful there're lots of better options (and types). Also consider that this is for the current state, maybe someday (although unlikely) ground types could get some sort of buff.In the end this is simply some guidance, and its up to you to decide. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2M48NQW
