"The Reason Why Dexit is so Important"

Maybe I'm just preaching to the choir here, but I want to take a moment to reiterate:The reason Dexit is so important is because it shows that there is NOTHING Game Freak holds sacred about the franchise. Everything is a gimmick. Mega-evolutions, that were supposed to breath new life into weaker evolutionary lines? A gimmick ditched next gen. Z-moves, a once per battle special attack? A single generation gimmick. And the same can be said for any feature that appears in any of the games. Day/night cycles were a "gimmick" from gen 2 that gen 3 pitched (despite still having an in-game clock that did everything the Gen 2 clock did). Contests? Gimmick. Pokemon following you? Gimmick. Sky battles? Regardless of my hatred of them, gimmick. Doubles, triples, rotations, reverse, and every other alternative battle style? Gimmicks. I really could go forever. I haven't even listed some of the more popular features that have been cut.Why should I care about dynamaxing when it's going to be a single generation gimmick they're going to throw away after these two games? Or any other gimmick they introduce this gen?But by making the Pokemon themselves a "gimmick" this generation, it truly leaves me no reason to play the game. Why should I invest in any of these new Pokemon, or get attached to any, when most will be removed next gen for the next gimmick?I never want to say the word 'gimmick' again. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2NL8wlq
