#PokemonGO: The last weekend of March, Lugia with the exclusive move Aeroblast will be available in raids. Lugia is already a relevant Pokemon in Master League PvP, and if this move is a buff over Sky Attack, it might push it Lugia into a meta-dominant position.Lugia is also a Pokemon that has been around for three years. People have invested large amounts of raid passes, dust and rare candy on this Pokemon. A lot of devoted players may have purchased second moves for their existing Lugia for the first round of Master League Pokemon Go Battle League, only to find that the Pokemon has been made obsolete. A lot of players have chased Lugia and its shiny form through several raid events.Niantic had been doing some good things recently, and it looked like they might be considering balance around limited availability moves and the cost of participating in high-end battles. They added Lock On to the permanent movepool of the Regi trio and made it available to existing Pokemon through TMs. They returned PvP relevant legacy moves to the movepool of existing Pokemon. They gave Kyogre Surf and made it available through a TM. These were all moves in the right direction.Unfortunately, Aeroblast Lugia is a move in the other direction. This is the first time an exclusive move has been added to a Pokemon with a previously-released shiny, and it means they're going to do this again for Origin Pulse Kyogre, Precipice Blades Groudon, and Dragon Ascent Rayquaza.This is bad for heavy spenders who are seeing their previous investment rendered obsolete, bad for casual and free-to-play players, who will have very limited opportunities to capture what is likely to be an important Pokemon, and bad for the competitive scene and the idea that Pokemon Go Battle League is or is likely to become a respectable competitive game.Niantic needs to make relevant moves available through TMs, or create new TMs that can add event moves to existing Pokemon.
