"My trainer name was just changed (and not by me) without notice?"

#PokemonGO: Wondering if this has happened to anyone else.This morning, I logged on and all was fine. Name was still "username," as it should be. So imagine my surprise when I opened the app a few hours later for a raid, and suddenly my trainer name was changed to "username3". What?? I didn't get any notice of name change from Niantic in my email. My trainer name was not inappropriate in any way (it was literally just my first and middle name in real life). I definitely did not do this myself, and no one else knows my login info. Nothing else seems amiss on my account and journal doesn't show any suspicious activity. I've played since release in 2016 and this has always been my trainer name; I've never changed it. Then today, simply my name was "username" this morning and now it is "username3."What gives?
