"Sinnoh Throwback Research Guide for Catching Ground, Ghost and Steel Pokemon"

#PokemonGO: Hi everyone,I have noticed that many of you are having difficulties with catching pokemon of certain types during the Sinnoh Throwback Research event. I have compiled the following list to help you with completing the research. Note that there are other options but I have prioritised the ones that are the most accessible and most manageable for the community:1) Catch A Ground Type PokemonThe only ground types from Sinnoh that you can get from the wild are Hippopotas and Gible. Both are quite rare but thankfully there are other ways you can get a ground type:Larvitar: GBL Reward EncounterStunfisk: GBL Reward Encounter (this is a guaranteed reward for reaching Rank 4 if you haven't played GBL or haven't reached Rank 4)Hippowdon: Tier 4 RaidsAlolan Diglett: Magnetic LuresOnix: Magnetic Lures2) Catch A Ghost Type PokemonThe only ghost type from Sinnoh that you can get from the wild is Drifloon. They are easier to find in the wild than Gible and I have personally caught one by using an incense. They are also easier to find at night. They are also available in Tier 1 raids. Alternatives include:Gastly: Research Task - Make Three Great Throws (as one of the possible reward encounters)Litwick: GBL Reward Encounter3) Catch A Steel Type PokemonThis is the easiest of all three. Shieldon can be found in the wild. Another strategy involves using a magnetic lure but I personally think that that is not necessary. These are just some of the many available options:Bronzor: Bronzor Spotlight Hour this Tuesday (best option since everyone can participate)Beldum: GBL Reward EncounterMetagross: GBL Reward EncounterSkarmory: GBL Reward EncounterKlink: Tier 1 RaidsBastiodon: Tier 3 RaidsBronzong: Tier 4 RaidsI hope that this is useful and that everyone can complete their throwback research on time!Good luck :)Edit: Thank you to other members who have pointed out that you can also get Pokemon of these types from corresponding Rocket Grunt battle encounters, as well as from other research tasks from Pokestops. If you can head out, please remember to practice social distancing! via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/3cQIB78
