Hell, I don't think the Bulbasaur line should've been Poison to begin with, as opposed to the Gastly line where it makes sense. However, the Gastly line learns damaging Dark moves, so maybe Gengar could've become Ghost/Dark in Gen 2 (granted, it probably would've been extremely broken).
