"Having the rocket invent running at the same time as an incense event just forces players to decide which part of the event they paid for that they want to miss out on"

#PokemonGO: All of the Machop and Dratini spawns are locked behind rocket stops so if you want one of those you can't just walk around and catch it. A lot of the good spawns require you to use incense, but if you're in a rocket battle you can't see what spawned let alone catch it. An average length battle and the unskippable screens at the end mean you're going to miss 2-3 incense spawns every single time you do a rocket battle. But if you walk around catching the pokemon and hoping for shineys you miss out on the chance of some of the better shadow pokemon in the game. You could try and do a bit of both, but then you're only putting in less effort for both parts of the event, you'll get less shineys than if you skipped the rockets all together, and less rockets (or none) if you just focus on catches. The rocket event by itself could have been amazing if there wasn't such a high price for participating. Grinding out all those shadow Machops and Dratini could have been an amazing day, but it's made significantly less amazing when you finish a battle and there's a Snorlax or a Gible on the map that despawns when you click on it...Add to that, day 2 was somehow even more laggy than day one. There were so many raids we wanted to do, but after the first 3 and having most of the players either get kicked out of the raid (still cost a pass) or desync and be unable to rejoin, but when you get to the catch phase it's too laggy to even throw the ball half the time, and when you can it rarely goes the distance. About 90% of balls just spin in place as if the boss telekinetically grabbed it as soon as you let it go.Add to this the fact that the shiney rates clearly weren't any better than day one made day 2 even worse than day one. Add to that that not all of the desireable spawns from day one actually spawned at all on day 2 (No Dratini, Machop, and for some reason Darumaka) and many of them required incense. Add to that day two has no bonus's like double stardust etc that's a pretty standard addon for most events, so you don't even get a ludicrous amoun of dust as a consolation priceI bought 3 tickets for this event (myself, my girlfriend and her daughter) so I'm pretty bitter, but to be honest even if this had been a free event it would have been very underwhelming. Paying actual money and then grinding for 10 hours straight and most people barely got any shineys out of it. I went into this event expecting very little and I was apparently way too optimistic. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2D48B1U
