"[BUG] High-Flyers, Misplaced Throw Physics, and How to Prove It"
#PokemonGO: For the longest time, probably since the beginning of the game, there's been a subtle bug relating to catching Pokemon that have the up-down position change. If you land a throw while the Pokemon is in the High position and it escapes the ball, it is positioned back in the default Low position. However, subsequent throws cause the ball to soar farther than expected. There are two workarounds to this problem:Wait for the Pokemon to change to the High, then back to the Low position.Run and re-start the encounter. This has been reported on in the past, but Niantic has not acknowledged it. (I seem to remember they rejected it one of the times it was brought up here on TSR.)Well, this morning I happened to discover an interesting encounter with this bug. I don't typically do screen recording while playing, so I don't have evidence to corroborate it.So, here's the thing: Your buddy knows where the Pokemon is!Here's the steps to reproduce (RNG required):Wait for a Pokemon to transition from the Low position to the High positionLand a throwPokemon escapes and returns to the Low positionThrow a ball before the Pokemon changes position again and the ball is knocked awayTrigger Buddy AssistWhat you'll see is the ball will be rebounded back to the Pokemon by the Buddy Assist, but it will be aimed where the Pokemon was in the High position.Raising this issue so that Niantic hopefully sees that one of the core game features has been bugged since the beginning. Maybe even addresses it.Corroborating video would be appreciated. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/3jrXtfe
