"Mega evolutions by type #10. Fighting"

#PokemonGO: DisclaimerThe stats of mega evolutions are calculated in accordance to the current formulas for transferring stats from the main game series to Pokemon GO (i.e., they are only approximate and may change slightly in the actual release). Movepool of a mega evolution is the same as the movepool of their previous form. All simulations were carried out for Pokemon level 40, 15/15/15, extreme weather, 10% friendship bonus.LegendFAQQ: Do you know that {pokemon name} will be even better than one of those you are talking about?A: Yes, I know. I will definitely write something about it when the time comes. If you want to see a specific type in the next post, or to find the result of some Pokemon versus some boss, you can just ask me.Q: How can you know ahead of time that players will be allowed to have more than one mega evolution in a raid group?A: I don’t know. I'm just trying to do a detailed analysis of each mega evolution, categorizing them by type. Mega Evolutions are great, but they don't break raids, they only make them easier. If they limit number of megas to one per group, then mega evolutions will not affect raids AT ALL. Let's take an example. Let' say a party consisting of one specific mega evolution allows you to deal 5% more damage to a boss than in the case of an usual Pokemon. Then one mega evolution allows you to deal about 5 / (from 10 to 18)% more damage, which is 0.5% at best. Will it be noticeable? No, isn't it? So let's hope that there will be no restrictions, or they will not be so severe.IntroductionThe game features 7 fighting type mega evolutions: Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Lucario, Mega Heracross, Mega Blaziken, Mega Gallade, Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham. All of them (except Medicham) have a pretty good attack stat, so they all have the potential to be used in raids.Stats of fighting type mega evolutions are shown in the following picture:Stats of fighting type mega evolutionsFighting type Pokemon deal more damage to Dark, Ice, Normal, Rock and Steel Pokemon. So fighting type mega evolutions could potentially be useful against: Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regigigas, Dialga, Kyurem, Cobalion, Terrakion, Darkrai (Gnesect, Articuno have no fighting type vulnerability, Heatran has double ground vulnerability).I divide these bosses into 3 types:Original legendary golems (Regirock, Regice, Registeel);Dragons (Dialga, Kyurem);Other bosses (Regigigas, Terrakion, Cobalion, Darkrai).vs original legendary golemsAll original legendary golems (Regirock, Regice, Registeel) have a very high defense stat and a low attack stat. The difficulty of these bosses is that it is hard to deal them any significant damage.Fighting vs RegirockThe best Pokemon against Regirock are as follows:Regirock top countersFighting type mega evolutions result:Fighting vs RegirockFighting vs RegiceThe best Pokemon against Regice are as follows:Regice top countersFighting type mega evolutions result:Fighting vs RegiceFighting vs RegisteelThe best Pokemon against Registeel are as follows:Registeel top countersFighting type mega evolutions result:Fighting vs RegisteelAs you can see, fighting type mega evolutions show very good results against legendary golems, but Mega Lucario stands out the most. A little bit more attack is all Lucario needed to be the best fighting type Pokemon in the game. It outclasses not only the current tops but also the water type mega evolutions (Swampert vs Regirock 37.4%). Lucario's damage level is so high that it allows to beat Registeel just in duo with a favorable comnination of boss moves. On average Lucario deals 5-10% more damage. Heracross, Metwo, Blaziken - slightly better than the current tops (by about 1-2% damage). Gallade, Lopunny are consistently worse than the current tops, the reason for this is their lower attack, while their moveset is the same as the movesset of Heracross, Metwo and Blaziken.vs dragonsDragons are highlighted in a separate type because they have huge attack and defence satsts. It is very difficult to deal a significant damage to them, because they kill Pokémon very quickly. Well, let's see how the fighting type mega evolutions are doing.Fighting vs DialgaThe best Pokemon against Dialga are as follows:Dialga top countersFighting type mega evolutions result:Fighting vs DialgaFighting vs KyuremThe best Pokemon against Kyurem are as follows:Kyurem top countersFighting type mega evolutions result:Fighting vs KyuremOh, what a results! Lucario once again shows how strong Aura Sphere is in its paws. This time it outperforms the top by 13-17%. That's a LOT! The damage is so great that Dialga turns into an easy boss for two.Things are a little different for other fighting type mega evolutions: they are fighting their not the best movesets. But in the end, all they succeed is to be at or below the level of current tops. This is true for absolutely all fighting type mega evolutions (except Lucario of course).vs other bossesNote that the results against Cobalion will not be presented in this section, as post has a limit on the maximum number of pictures, also Cobalion is "The weakest link", because it never appeared in my posts before, and another boss of his type (Registeel) has already been presented in this post.Fighting vs RegigigasThe best Pokemon against Regigigas are as follows:Regigigas top countersFighting type mega evolutions result:Fighting vs RegigigasMega Lucario shines again, this time against Regigigas. A damage gap between Lucario and the current tops is over 10%. For the rest of the fighting type mega evos, things are again not so rosy: they have great difficulty catching up with the normal Lucario in terms of damage. Only Mewtwo X manages to outclass the normal Lucario in terms of damage by about 6%.Fighting vs TerrakionThe best Pokemon against Terrakion are as follows:Terrakion top countersFighting type mega evolutions result:Fighting vs TerrakionMetwo X and Lucario switch places against Terrakion. Lucario, due to the steel typing, suffers from Terrakion's fighting type attacks, so Lucario's damage spread is quite large. Metwo X has resistance to fighting type attacks, as well as its quick move finally deals super effective damage on the boss, which allows Metwo X to take the first line in this case. For the rest of the Pokemon, almost nothing has changed: they are still trying in vain to outclass the present Terrakion top counters.Fighting vs DarkraiThe best Pokemon against Darkrai are as follows:Darkrai top countersFighting type mega evolutions result:Fighting vs DarkraiAnd against this boss too, Lucario is showing amazing results. The rest of the fighting type mega evolutions are still somewhere far behind the leader. The key difference is only one: Mewtwo X in 5th place. The reason is that Mewtwo X is vulnerable to most of the attacks of Darkrai, while Darkrai has resistance to the quick attack of Mewtwo X.Conclusion (TL;DR)Good news for Lucario fans: with its excellent moveset and outstanding stats, Mega Lucario deserves the title of the best fighting type mega evolution in the game. The rest of the fighting type mega evolutions hardly get results slightly higher than those of the current tops. All this is due to their weak moveset.Mega Metwo X and Mega Blaziken will almost certainly be good as psychic and fire types respectively. The remaining fighting type mega evolutions (Heracross, Gallade, Lopunny) can only be helped by improving their moveset.#1 - Bug type: https://ift.tt/3ffxgy4 - Dark type:https://ift.tt/2D3ej4l - Water type:https://ift.tt/2DahYxt - Ghost + BONUS Gyarados with CD move revelance:https://ift.tt/2BMU6PP - Double issue.
