Hello trainers. Today I shall share with you a story that is etched in pokemon history for all eternity. Let's begin.My sister was playing Pokemon SoulSilver, and she then arrived at the Ecruteak City Gym, challenging for another gym badge. Off we go.The fight starts and she manages to defeat the Gastly and two Haunters fairly easily, but then comes GENGAR, who proceeds to basically whoop her ass again and again and again. Multiple tries, different strategies, thousands of pokedollars in potions gone to waste, all for nothing. Gengar is relentless. Reset and retry is all that's left.Countless battles, with the same result, have passed. Already in a state of despair and completely tilted, she tries one more time.Her Pokemon, with all their might, manage to damage and also tank the cruel onslaught Gengar imposes. However, in the end, the result appears to be the same. The sheer power of Sucker Punch and Shadow Ball is too much. They fall one by one, and Gengar is still up. Soon, all that remains is her starter, on the cruel verge of death, and her HM slave, Lv. 6 Rattata. Defeat is a matter of time at this stage. The GOAT of Ghosts is too much for her to handle.BUT. SHE DOES. NOT. GIVE. UP. RATTATA I CHOOSE YOU.Rattata comes out, with a brave glare directed at the spectral behemoth. He may be scared, but he's resolute. His trainer depends on him. There's no turning back. Gengar falls today. The ghost sends out a creepy smile, eager to make another victim.Rattata proceeds to attack, determined to suceed, but soon he realizes it's futile. His scratches are normal. He cannot damage the Purple Demon. All hope is lost.With a dark grim in his face, Gengar prepares his move. Victory is at hand. He sends out a Shadow Ball. And then comes silence.The smoke dissipates, and Rattata stands fierce, still alive. Without a single scratch. Gengar and everyone else is in awe. But the ghost is bloodthirsty. He tries again, and fails again. Gengar does not believe in what he sees.Rattata passionately looks back at his fallen comrades, all with the same wounded and defeated look in their faces. He then realizes, their sacrifice was not in vain. Sucker Punch is no more. Gengar had punched his companions time and time again, unaware that something like this could ever happen. Sucker Punch PP is at 0, and Rattata is immune to Shadow Ball. Hope is restored.Rattata seizes the opportunity and goes for it. He proceeds to spends nearly three hours using Tail Whip and Scratch for literally 0 damage. But it does not matter. Gengar's moves come down to zero, while Rattata can do this all day. With the image of his wounded friends in his head, he whips his tail non stop while Gengar begins to slowly kill himself using Struggle. The Purple Demon cries in despair, this time punching himself to 0 HP wondering how he could lose to such a weak creature.Gengar finally falls. The trainer and her Pokemon celebrate, and run towards the once overlooked and ignored HM slave. But not anymore. From this day on, Rattata will always be remembered as the hero who slain the mighty Gengar.
