"US States that could possibly work as Pokemon regions, besides obvious ones like California?"

I actually think that Maryland, despite it being the 42nd largest state, could work as a Pokemon region. One of Maryland's nicknames is "America in Miniature" due to it having many natural features. It has the Chesapeake Bay, mountainous areas in the west (which could work as the cold area where Ice types are found), forests, marshes, sand dunes on Assateague Island (which could work as the "sandy" area of the game), and more. There are also plenty of opportunities for new mons and regional forms, like the regional bird being a Baltimore oriole, a regional bug being a Baltiomore checkerspot, a blue crab, a Steel/Fire Rolycoly regional form that would represent the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, and many more. You could also have a city based on Washington D.C, which would fit well as the last city before Victory Road and the Pokemon League, which would probably fit best at the National Harbor. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/3D4x9S4
