"people complain about the "chinese zodiac theory", but the theory behind the water starter being based on weapons makes even less sense to me"
so for those who don´t know each starter has their own theories/themes behind them, fire starters are based on the chinese zodiac with is the most popular one , grass starters are based on extinct animals with for me is the one that makes the most sense out of them all, is a very specific one that can be traiced to them all and water starters are based on weapons, and aside from the 3 types each gen itself has their own theme (genetics, ancient creatures, unique evolutions, myths, empires, jrpg, circus and famous british stuff) with is a very cool thing to see that each gen and starter has a unique though process, but the water one doesn´t make sense to me.you can say whatever you want about cyndaquil and fenekkin not corresponding to the "rat and dog" animals of the zodiac, but they can be safely stretched to fit in there, and if anyhing there are just 2 of them who don´t fit right there (we can´t say nothing about fuecoco because we don´t know how they will look like when evolved, maybe it will be a snake or a crocodile and male crocodile are called bulls so who knows), but out of the 8 water starters only 3 fit in the theory, blastoise-canons; empoleon-tridents and greninja-shuriken(although is supposed to be a rogue class based on the jrpg classes)feraligatr, swampert, samurott, primarina and intelion don´t realy make sense, they are supposed to be based on knuckle brass, fans, a katana, a bomb/flaut (not even a weapon), and a whip/gun, where are you even getting this ideas from ? via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/RciGMA2
