"Rename Pokemon that are originally from you"

I know that it is not possible to rename Pokémon that you received in a trade. But what if you have a Pokémon (you are OT) trade it with someone and trade it right back? (So your Pokemon gets traded twice and through that remains in your possession) Can you rename that Pokemon? Because your his OT?
