"Critical comments (and useless complaints) on the new Scarlet/Violet trailer"
I thought I'd make a separate thread for more critical discussion of the new trailer, since most people seem to just want to be hyped and maintain a positive atmosphere, which is totally fine ofc! But perhaps this thread could be an outlet for those who are less enthusiastic about what we saw, or at least for me lol.Because, jeez, the new footage looks really bad. Like, my god, it seems like Gamefreak has made barely any progress since Sw/Sh and L:A. The promotional screenshots on the official website--which are possibly edited or at least consciously selected to make the games look as good as possible--look awful.Sure, some Pokemon and trainers now have neat textures, but the environment looks like it was made over a single weekend by an intern. I've seen 3D fangames on Youtube that look way better. And how about the fact that we still have no voice acting for dialogue? Not even Animal Crossing-style mumbling noises? Or the UI, which looks straight out of the early 2000s (and not in a good way)? Or the empty, barren, uninteresting-looking world? Or the janky, non-expressive animations of trainers and player characters?I don't wanna spoil anyone's fun, which is why I made this separate thread to complain, but I'm really disappointed (though mainly in myself for expecting more, and for the fact I might still end up buying this game 'cause I'm a horrible consumer). Am I being too negative or do others share these complaints?Edit: as a helpful commenter pointed out, this game does have Lechonk in it. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/zt7x0eg
