"Scarlet and Violet are NOT based IN the Past/Future. Rather those are Themes of the story."

I've seen a Few comments talking about how Scarlet is suppose to be set in the past, while Violet is in the Future.Just wanted to clear up, that's NOT right at all. Not even by a few years.The Past/Future themes are prevalent in the story, and there might (big might) even be some kind of Time Travel aspect to it, but the story ITSELF definitely isn't set in the Past if you play Scarlet or the Future if you play Violet.More likely than not, as Its been said in a few other threads, the "Past" and "Future" are represented by opposing Academies both based in the region.How do we know? Several reasons.1): The Crests for the Academies (Orange and Grape) and their motifs are seen several times throughout both trailers.2): We see several younger NPCs and even the Player Character (as well as their Rival) wearing Academy Uniforms for both, respectively. Often in the same Clip, meaning BOTH Academies exist at the same time and in both game.3): If we assume that Clips from Scarlet and Violet respectively can be distinguished by which Uniform the player wears, then we can see there is no change between town scenery and even technology levels. Something you'd expect when moving from Past to Future. This means BOTH games are set in the same "Present" .4): In that same vein of thought, the CHARACTERS themselves prove this. How could Nemona be your Rival in both games if both are set in different time periods (unless you think she's some immortal time traveler). In fact, the only variable character wise is the Professors. Speaking of which...5): The Professors themselves are strong proof that the Academy theory is correct. Why would the Game give you a different Professor, but leave everything else the same? Because they're Professors from two different Academies.If you play Scarlet, you join the orange Academy, and your Professor is Professor Sada.If you play Violet, you join the grape Academy, and your Professor is Professor Turo. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/vMtiz54
