Japan got this game in January today while the west got it in September and October for the US and EU respectively. Still this game is important. It was the 1st remake the series got plus set a precedence of growth and adaptation for future remakes. For many this was their 1st experience in Gen I and was definitely mine. I got this game Christmas Day 2004 and didn’t even put it down even during the 3rd, 4th or 5th gens of Pokémon.
