"Pokemon cards have crushed the S&P 500"

When I was 9 years old a booster pack of 10 Pokemon cards would run you $3 a pack. 23 years later even the non-rare vintage cards such as Bellsprout or Oddish will run you about $3 per card (more if first edition). That means every vintage Pokemon card was at minimum a 10 bagger, meaning it is now 10X it's original price. Holographic cards such as Alakazams or Poliwraths in good condition will run you about a minimum of $20 per card for a roughly 6600% return in 23 years. And first edition rare holographic cards such as Charizard have crushed not only the stock market, but even bitcoin in some instances. Unopened vintage booster packs will run you $300-$1000.Imagine how crazy you would've looked to your peers in 1999 if you said you were investing $100,000 in Pokemon cards. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/3nrqwUL
