"To those permanently leaving the game by April 6, don't forget to thank the community."
#PokemonGO: Before anything: this is not a rant post or a boycott post. Thanks to the community and to myself, because we shaped each others' experiences in this game. (Not Niantic. Maybe in the past they deserved mythanks, but certainly not now.) We have our own experiences, and for me it was a mix of playing the game with my college friends before the pandemic, remote raiding and doing daily research with my family during the pandemic, reforging friendships as the world returned to normal, bragging in this subreddit, giving helpful advice to newer players in this subreddit, and ranting together whenever Niantic fucks up. On my own, the game gave me reasons to exercise and to bike around my city, exploring places I've never thought to visit before.I am leaving the game because, for a long time now, I've felt alone playing the game. My family has left the game behind for >1 year now. My friends have moved on with life too. PvP, which was my main reason to grind, is not something I have time for anymore. And now, my hosting in PokeGenie is soon coming to an end.Again, this is NOT a rant or boycott post. This is me moving on with life like the people I used to play with. It has given me some good, and I will keep the active lifestyle the game encouraged me to have. But the game itself is no longer for me.Thank you to this sub! via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/LMhI3gP
