"An idea to incentive attacking to reduce gym stagnation that would be difficult to exploit and wouldn't affect gyms with an already high turnover rate - Stardust bounty that gets added to upon every collection"

#PokemonGO: I'm sure we're all aware right now that one of theproblems with gyms in stagnation - High level gyms popping up that no one wants to take down because it takes too much effort and provides little reward (500 dust + 10 coins that could be obtained easier by focusing your effort on some other gym instead)So one the most commonly suggested solution is to offer more reward for attacking gyms, usually Stardust, or more XP. But the problem is that in places where gyms change hands extremely frequently, this would just make that worse. Also, it can be easily exploited by win-trading - swapping easily beatable pokémon with a friend on another team.My idea is in a similar vein, but it gives a higher reward for gyms that have been around for a long time: Whenever someone collects their defender bonus, any pokémon that have been in gyms for 2 or more collection cycles including this one would get "stardust bounty" of (say) 250 stardust placed on them, which would stack for every time it's collected on after the first. So a pokémon that's been in a gym for 5 days would have a bounty of 1000 dust assuming the likely case that they collect every day. When the pokémon is kicked from the gym, it would then give that amount of dust to everyone who had contributed any prestige against it in the last 10 minutes. As stardust is a valuable resource which can't be bought, this would provide an incentive to make it more worthwhile to take over a gym, as well as providing a slight advantage to the minority team in the area, making the teams more balanced. This would also encourage group play, as everyone would benefit from a group takedown. This would encourage players to take down as much of the gym as they can, because the pokémon at the top of the gym are more likely to have been there for longer, so would have the largest bounties, while the pokémon at the bottom are likely to have just been put there recently and not collected a very high bounty yet. This would not really be easy to exploit, because the bounty only gets added when the defender's bonus is collected for the 2nd time, meaning the pokémon has to be in the gym for 21 hours anyway.I was considering the idea of also having a coin bounty of 1 coin per collection, but I think this might be a little too overpowered. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2dQMRYy
