"Naming, Gym Battles and Unicode - Simplified"

#PokemonGO: As we know, the game gives us nothing to indicate what moves our Pokemon have when we're going into battle. All we have are our memories, and the ability to give Pokemon nicknames. Ever since I was inspired by this post here (big thanks to /u/poops_all_berries) I've been trying to come up with an 'all in one' naming scheme using Unicode that is easy to understand in theory and easier to use in practice. This is what has been working for me. The font is half sized capital, and appears slightly smaller than the in game font size, and (most) appear in bold. TypesNormal = ɴRock = ʀBug = ʙSteel = ꜱWater = ᴡElectric = ᴇIce = ɪDragon = ᴅPoison = ᴘGround = ɢFighting = ꜰPsychic = ꟼGhost = ㏉Grass = ɠFlying = flFairy = ⨍Fire = ℉Dark = ƌDesignationsTrainer = ⊕Attacker = ⊗Defender = ⊛Extra⊝ = SpecialtyNumbers⓪①②③④⑤⑥⑦⑧⑨⑩⑪⑫⑬⑭⑮ How to use:Depending on the types of moves (Normal, Fighting, etc) copy the Unicode symbols that correspond with those types and add them to the end of the name of a Pokemon.Pokemon with an attacking moveset will be given a '⊗' at the start of their name.Pokemon with a defensive moveset will be given a '⊛' at the start of their name.Pokemon used for training will be given a '⊕' at the start of their name.Sorting Pokemon A-Z will now order them first by Trainer, then Attacker, then Defender (feel free to change the symbols based on your priority), followed by A-Z of Pokemon with a non corresponding moveset. *UsingPokedex#tosortPokemonwilllisttheminorder, regardlessofnamechanges. Extra tips:Some Pokemon have really long, obnoxious names that don't tolerate many extra symbols - dropping vowels out of names (while trying to preserve the name) is a good place to start (eg: Vlpx = Vulpix. Grwlth = Growlithe. Alakazam = Alkzm, etc)Using the extra Specialty designation (⊝) on Pokemon with a niche, rarely applicable but extremely useful moveset (Vileplume with Moonblast, for example) isn't necessary, but will be extremely handy in the long run.You can keep IV (as a number - 91, or each number (A/D/S) in Unicode as well, using the Enclosed Alphanumerics.Don't bother doing this for unevolved forms. Use this when a Pokemon has completed its line and won't change moveset, you could double or triple your work. More info:⊕⊗⊛⊝ = Mathematical Operators Unicode - Designations follow the order found under 'Circled'ɴʀʙꜱᴡᴇɪᴅᴘɢꜰ = Latin Letter Small Capitalsꟼ = Latin Epigraphic Letter Reversed P㏉ = Square GYɠ = Latin Small Letter g with Hookfl = Latin Small Ligature FL⨍ = Finite Part Integral℉ = Degree Fahrenheitƌ = Latin Small Letter D with Topbar①②③④⑤⑥⑦⑧⑨⑩⑪⑫⑬⑭⑮ = Enclosed Alphanumerics Resources/AppsAndroid Unicode PadiOS Unicode Map ImagesExample Gallery via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2dSszjG
