"Has phone overheating gotten worse?"

#PokemonGO: I started PGO with a Moto Droid Turbo 2. It often overheated while I was playing PGO, and I strongly suspect the constant overheating is what killed it early.After the passing of my old phone, I decided to get a top phone from a top brand. With the S7 Note having issues, I went with the Edge.At first, it seemed perfect. I could put the phone through the game and even have it charge up with minimal heating. However, over the past month or so, I've noticed my phone getting hot, even just for running the game while idle.Has anyone else noticed this? I remember an article talking about Niantic's attempts to obfuscate code creating a heavier strain on CPUs, but if the game is overheating on my S7 Edge, then who does Niantic expect to play the game?
