"A lack of PokeCentres contributes to gym stagnation in the meta"

#PokemonGO: In the original games, Pokémon could be healed up at PokeCentres for free. Because of this, players were encouraged to fight and train, even if they were outmatched by opponents. Free healing meant that there was always the option to grind up through levels, as long as you had the patience to do so.In Pokémon go, items are free, but you are locked out from the entire meta unless you have access to enough battle items to restore your Pokémon. Not only does this disadvantage players who are not lucky enough to have regular access to PokeStops, it discourages lower level players from participating in gyms. Weaker Pokémon will be more likely to faint or take serious damage and need to be regularly healed.Even mid-level players may decide not to battle simply for the sake of preserving their hoard of potions and revives. In my town, stagnation is a major issue. Some gyms have been standing at lv10 for a very long time. It's not that I don't have the time or interest to battle these gyms. I love to battle, and enjoy dismantling maxed out gyms! However, 9 times out of 10, I won't even consider it, because I feel like I need to save my items.I can completely understand that Niantic like to monetise their game. Selling lucky eggs, fine. Selling incubators, great. Selling balls...well they're overpriced, but at least they're available. However the shop doesn't sell any healing items whatsoever. It's not like having PokeCentres would take away from sales.Even if you could only heal once a day.Even if you could only heal at friendly gyms, or special locations.Even if you could only heal 6 mons at a time... it would still be better than nothing. And with the meta the way it is, it would at least be an easy way to encourage players to participate more and take away some of the advantage of higher level players with maxed out inventory space and unlimited high CP Pokémon. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2mJ9Ohn
