"Different Gym Concern"

#PokemonGO: Long time lurker, first time posting. As a single player, I have been long been out of the gym scene, since it became so monotonous and stale, as we are all well aware. I see practically daily posts concerning spoofing, botting, shaving, etc. ruining the gym meta. These problems are further exponentiated by the fact that there are so few gyms compared to the amount of players, hence why gyms are such a desirable and competitive factor - they exemplify and showcase the "elite," so to speak. They also give us one of the only real end games as of right now.An issue that I have yet to see discussed [I apologize if I am blind], is the fact that there are many players who take up gym spots in well over 10 gyms. To me, this could very well be one of the main causes, whether directly or indirectly, of the bottom slot shaving that many players are experiencing. Before the attacks come barraging in, please hear me out.As I have already pointed out, there are so many players and so few gyms. We all want in, especially those of us who have plenty of high-level Mons we want to stick in every nook and cranny to "help our team's cause". As of right now, there is no real benefit to such thing other than a personal one, hence, the quotes. Many of us have plenty of worthy Mons to go around by this point. I have seen many people on here mentioning that they have tens of Mons in gyms all over their area. To me, that is one of the biggest harms to your own team. By taking spots in well over 10 gyms (I would quantify this to be at least ~15 or so, especially when you get into the 20's and 30's+ range), you are taking away many possible slots for a rising team mate to slide into and get closer to reaching their 100 coins and 5000 dust for the day. For each additional person that does this, the problem is enhanced even further. The argument against spoofing and botting is that illegitimate players are taking away potential gym spots from legitimate, arduous players. The argument against shaving is that players are not properly earning their spot in the gyms, essentially mooching and taking away spots from those who legitimately earned it. IMO, taking up more gym spots than are really practically necessary, i.e., over 10, are leading to the same problems for your fellow team mates by taking away potential gym slots from which they could receive benefit. The purpose of my post is not to attack those of you who do it, but to offer some constructive criticism to an issue that I perceive as easily fixable. Since many players are concerned about "helping their fellow team mates," I believe that this is a prime example of an active way in which to do so without having to fight with enemy spoofers and shavers. Additionally, I would like to hear any thoughts you guys have on this issue.TL;DR - IMO taking up way more than the personally beneficial 10 gym slots hurts one's team mates just as much as spoofers, botters, and shavers. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2ngBKOb
