"Possible explanation for Unown rarity. Niantic's plan for Unown may be more clever than you think!"

#PokemonGO: As we all know, Unown is currently the rarest pokemon out there. Based on spawn data from city-wide scanners as discussed in this thread, Unown is far more rare than even Dragonite, perhaps even more than 15 times as rare! deevee12 determined in this thread that it would take an average of 101 successfully caught Unown to catch all 26 forms currently available. At current spawn rates, it may very well take longer than the lifespan of the game for even an active player to catch all 26 forms. Was this Niantic's intention? tho create an achievement so difficult that you would have to eat, sleep, and breathe Pokemon GO in order to have any hope of completing it without cheating? I don't think so.Niantic Likes to be clever, we all know this. They have a reason for everything they do. An Unown event is possible, but that seems far too simple (what holiday would that even make sense for?) I believe they are planning something special. Here's my proposed explanation:Significantly increased Unown spawns at legendary eventsOnce the events finally happen, we will all be able to catch the legendary pokemon we have waited so long for! But then what? Assuming the events are held at predetermined locations like major cities, you will travel to that location, wait for it to spawn, fight/catch it once, then go home? Is that all? That may be worth it for most who would go out of their way to travel to these events, but wouldn't you be hoping for a little more to do once you got there? The opportunity to catch Unown would provide even more incentive to go to the event, and something else to do once you actually get there! It would be a sort of mini game/scavenger hunt to do while waiting/before leaving. It's not like this is an off the wall idea. Unown have always had an association with legendary pokemon, whether it be the third pokemon movie Spell of the Unown: Entei) or the Arceus event at the Sinjoh Ruins in HeartGold and SoulSilver. A gimmick like this seems straight up Niantic's alley. What do you think? Is this a reasonable possibility or an off the wall theory? (Or perhaps Niantic actually wants the Unown medal to be spoofers only, lol) via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2lXrs5e
