"A new major app update should drop tomorrow"

#PokemonGO: I work as a developer and work on large systems. And my theory is that they are working on a brand new API regarding the gyms that is not backwards compatible at all.And this is important because until now they needed to work in a way that maintains backwards compatibility so they can migrate to the new version in a seamless way so the old versions of the game and new can work (eg. the old app user and the new app user could be able to fight gyms together). And this meant they cannot radically change the rules of the game because the old apps would crash or glitch badly.And probably this is the reason we still have the gym dodge bug: the current gym system was hastily tossed together to have a bit more than nothing, and this bug occurs due to a fundamental design flaw in the current gym system which they cannot fix easily.And now they needed to rewrite the corresponding back-end and front-end from scratch. And this is a lot of work.Especially since they want to add PvP to the game too at some point. And it makes sense not to develop the two systems independently but instead both of them should be backed by the same code on server side where gyms will be same as PvP where the defender is simply an AI playing like the other player.To change the system they need to do basically a hard reset and keep the gyms disabled until everyone has the new app.And due to this I expect an APK update drop tomorrow where everything should be unveiled.
