"Beware of walking Eevee to get Espeon/Umbreon during events"

I walked it a total of 12.2 km, received 6 candies, and evolved from the buddy screen this morning (after the end of the event) and got Vaporeon.I know there has been a good bit of discussion regarding how the Eevee buddy trick works during events that impact candy distance, so I wanted to post my experience here. I would recommend walking something else during events that affect candy distance and just wait to walk your Eevee after these events end. There doesn't seem to be a safe way to ensure your evolution will work properly.EDIT: Based on the feedback I've received on this thread, I think I have realized what's going on. The required buddy distance for an Espeon/Umbreon evolution seems to have reset after the end of the event. If you walked yours 10+ km during the event and evolved before the end of the event, you got Espeon/Umbreon. If you walked 10+ km during the event but waited until after the event ended, you got Vaporeon/Flareon/Jolteon.
