"Idea: Let the gym badge map actually be a map"

#PokemonGO: So one of ny favourite little details from the big gym update is that in addition to getting and levelling gym badges? You can view a world map that populates itself with said badges. I like the feeling of collecting badges and seeing this map gradually populate. But the map doesn't exactly have the most detail. I live in the UK and it's so pixellated that no matter the zoom level my country is physically connected to the continent.What I'd really like is if the game allowesd a slightly clearer view when zoomed in, and offered a little more sense of completion for indulging in my new favourite thing to do in it. Suppose that collecting the badge for a gym would unlock a bit of map visibility- the roads and pathways in an area around the gym would download and be visible on this map. Perhaps the size of the area could very based on the number of gyms in the area (as in, revealing enough of the map in any given direction to cover half the distance to the next gym). Perhaps higher-level friendly-team badges could offer players the ability to find out about any nests near the gym (this info is basically public anyway- the ability to find it out easily within the game would be a great unlock).This would add a great sense of completion and encourage players to explore many more places than they otherwise would- as well as potentially giving reasons to venture out to more isolated and rural gyms rather than just clustering in city centres. Heck the data that could be gathered from tracking players making these trips could be really useful for data-gathering and later (perhaps for gen 3?) identifying good reachable but rural places to put rare spawns and encourage further exploration. And also give some good idea of which places are just outright unreachable.Remember how fielding on Ingress rewards and encourages players making trips out to isolated and rural places? Remember some players would literally go hiking and sailing to make those massive super-fields?I love the thrill of exploration, of discovering cool new places in my quest for gym badges (and maybe scouting for rarer spawns).
