#PokemonGO: After viewing the stream of the first EX raid in japan, we know that the mechanics and reward distribution of EX raids are identical to that of existing tier 5 raids. All that remains to be seen are the exact periodic adjustments that niantic has stated they will be making to the following: eligibility requirements (completed a raid at x gym within the last week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks), frequency (3 gyms per day, 20 gyms per day, 50 gyms per day), times (18:00-20:00, 14:00-16:00, 10:00-12:00), locations (3 test cities, all major cities, major cities and rural areas) and durations (2 hours, 4 hours, maybe even only 1 hour).With that established, I fail to see even one single benefit provided by EX raids that cannot be provided by existing raids. Over the last few weeks, I've read a lot of posts and comments from niantic apologists stating that we should reserve our judgement until we understand how EX raids will operate. We do have that understanding now and it's clear that EX raids do not benefit either niantic or the community.Niantic has hindered their own profit margins by opting to release Mewtwo via EX raids. Releasing Mewtwo via standard raids would have generated more raid pass sales than any other pokemon from all 7 generations. Furthermore, niantic's decision to release Mewtwo via EX raids after forcing the community to wait over a year for it's release is a slap in the face. It has become crystal clear that niantic's intention was to utilize the release of Mewtwo to profit from the community as a whole while only granting the opportunity to obtain it to a select lucky few. This is unacceptable and the community deserves better than this. There is no shame in niantic admitting they were wrong and rectifying this for the community by discarding the entire concept of EX raids and releasing Mewtwo globally via standard raids available to all trainers.tl;dr: We now know how EX Raids will operate.
