"Maximum possible experience reward in USUM: 235,654"
While original SM marked a return to the B/W experience formula, with its bonus experience for being underleveled that grows faster than quadratically, there was a distinct dearth of experience-rich enemies above a certain point. As such, the maximum XP you could possibly get in a single dose in that game was 46,769. Of course, the recipient for that dose has to be a level 1 internationally traded Pokemon, holding Lucky Egg, and being fed a rainbow bean to increase its affection to the point where it gets a further experience boost from that, and for that figure, the opponent specifically had to be the Dragonite that Shigeki Morimoto uses in his daily battle in the Game Freak building. Dragonite isn't his lead, Kangaskhan is, so you either had to play with Exp. Share turned off and keep getting KOs until Dragonite appears, or force him to switch over and over using stuff like Roar until Dragonite comes out, all while taking the hits you're given and being careful not to get any KOs in return. Then there was the matter of finding a turn to get the level 1 into the picture while still living to tell the tale afterwards. With the new games, it's possible to improve on that to the tune of five times as much XP. Specifically, you take that same level 1, turn on the new Roto Exp. Point Power, and let it be a witness in an SOS battle against a L57 Chansey and a L57 Blissey before taking both of those opponents out with a single spread move. The most ideal Pokemon for realizing those odds would be something like this:Absol @ Lagging TailAbility: Pressure- False Swipe- Night Slash- Rock Slide- Baton PassThe thing about the Pressure ability is that in addition to increasing enemy PP use, it also makes opponents more likely to call for help, and even affects the level distribution of wild Pokemon. Most areas in the game have a span of four levels for wilds that appear there, such as 54-57, and each level is randomly selected with 25% probability. If you have a Pressure lead, though, there's a 50% chance of rejecting that random level and replacing it with the guaranteed top-end level, in this case 57. It's still possible to roll 57 as the random level, so that causes the high level to have 62.5% odds, compared to 12.5% for each of the other levels. So with this guy in place at the front of your team, go to Poni Plains and use one of the Roto Exp. Points powers that you've undoubtedly been sitting on for most of the game. Now look around at the rustling bushes, and if you get anything other than Chansey, run away. If you exhaust both bushes with no Chansey, run toward the screen and cross into Poni Grove before heading right back into Plains to make the bushes respawn (Roto Powers are on a time limit, remember!) Eventually you'll get your Chansey, and then you don't have to worry about the time limit: if the Roto Power is active at the start of the battle, it will remain active all the way until it ends, at the very least.Look at the Chansey's level. Hopefully it's 57, but if not (and if you have Exp. Share turned off), that's not a problem. Weaken up the Chansey with False Swipe and spam Adrenaline Orb until it calls for help. All it can do back to you is Fling (a maximum of once) for a pittance of damage, or Egg Bomb for a bit more but even Absol can take tons of hits from Chansey before you have to worry about healing, and a solo Chansey might even take care of the healing for you. If it calls in a new L57 Chansey, False Swipe it and finish off the original caller with Night Slash; otherwise just remove the new one with a OHKO to free up the space for another call.Once you have a L57 Chansey, keep it low with False Swipe, and this time keep Night Slashing any new arrivals until you get a L57 Blissey. Blissey has a call rate of zero, so if you ever leave a Blissey alone it will never call in any new help (thus we can never be in the position of facing down double Blissey for an even bigger reward), but we can have one Chansey and one Blissey out at the same time, and that's the best we can do.So now that we have both Chansey and Blissey active at the same time, it's time to get your piggybacks to witness them so they actually get full XP for the encounters (and get XP at all, if Exp. Share is turned off). This is the reason for the Lagging Tail on Absol: it ensures that Baton Pass will be the slowest pivot available, so you never risk switching your level 1 into an Egg Bomb. Next turn, you can hard-switch back to Absol before the eggs can use any more moves, and if you have any other level 1s that you want to get in on a piece of the action, use another BP to get them in too. This Absol is great at cramming all the elements you need into a single slot, so you have room for up to five piggybacks--why not? Finally, after you've done all the switching you need to and Absol is back out, the Chansey and Blissey have probably used Heal Pulse on each other in the mean time, but with a high enough level Absol this isn't a problem. Now in order to get the maximum experience reward, you need to KO both opponents at once, so use the spread power of Rock Slide--and if you really want to be sure about not missing, you can throw in an X Accuracy first.Depending on the experience schedule, 235,654 will take your level 1s to somewhere between 57 and 66; Chansey itself is on the schedule that lands in the 66 bracket (so go figure: it slingshots from nothing at all to nine full levels beyond its relatives that it just saw you defeat!) That many level-ups will also guarantee that you trigger any applicable friendship evolutions, no matter how badly you mistreated the Pokemon in the past. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2i4KPZB
