"EX Raid "trigger" write up. Our Tests so far. EX Time choosing possible!"

#PokemonGO: A friend of mine asked for a write up of our Tests and other Information regarding EX Raid triggering.I know its a hot discussed issue and i just want to share our experience/system without claiming it to be false proof or repeatable. So what do we know (from past research on TSR)?:EX Raids are sent out based on S2 cells on Level 12. Each cell can only hold 1 EX Raid per cycle. You can check your city/region here http://ift.tt/2B6KH3m . Whats important is to set min/max size to 12. Now you have to add/search all gyms that have the fitting OSM tag. You can use http://ift.tt/XHjgOz . All gyms that are in blue highlighted Areas are eligible (not guaranteed) for EX Raids.Gyms that already hosted a EX Raid will host one again. If there is a gym that has hosted before in your cell and its spawning Raids (so no EX Raid scheduled) than this gym should be first priority. Next should be neigbhouring cell with no known EX gyms or where the gym is already hosting that cycle.Since November 11th there are no EX raids on other locations than sponsored or parks (+other tags you can find with the overpass), so forget gyms that came up during test phase that don´t fit the new criteria.EX Raids need some specific criteria to be triggered/hosted. What we didWe only ever hosted 1 EX Raid in our town (50k) during the test phase at a gym outside a park. At the first day of Groudon we raided alot all over town with 10-12 trainers and on the same evening there was an invite for an EX Raid at a playground for 25th. So i checked what why this gym was choosen and got to 2 points:It was one of the gyms with the label playground (wich qualifies as EX gym)It was one of 2 gyms that was raided twice that day with 12+trainers, 10 AM and 4 PM. Our EX Raid was scheduled 1 PM. This gym has not hosted a EX Raid before. So i read alot on TSR and decided for the following strategy:Get as many trainers as possible to raid 1 raid at a specific gym in a specific time window. We did 3 TestsWeek 1. We were around 45 different accounts (some just raiding once and some raiding 3 times) during 3 days (28,29 and 30 december). We did 2 LVL 2 Raids with as many lobbys as possible (28th and 30 th) and 1 LVL 5 Raid with 2 big lobbys. This was on the gym that hosted the december 25th EX raid. The raid was triggered with 26 invites. We had confirmend invites for players who raided just on 28th and just on 29th as well as players who raided all 3. The set time window was between 4:30 pm and 7:30pm. The Ex Raid time was 5:30pm Week 2. We tried the same system at another gym in the same cell with the gym from test 1 (wich was not hosting Raids that week). This gym also never hosted a EX Raid. 3 Raids with as many lobbys as possible with around 50 different accounts. We did NOT trigger a EX Raid!Week 2. After seeing our succes the first week, our neigbhouring town decided to give it a try as well at a park gym. Calling out to neigbhouring communitys we managed to do 1 LVL 4 Raid with 60 Accounts. The gym will hold a EX Raid on the 16th :). We are not sure how many invites went out as our groups were mixed up but can confirm at least 17 invites. Edit i thought i did mention it but it must have been lost in translation, this gym never held an EX Raid before and is in a heavy (car) traffic Area weekdays so not so much raided. To put that into scale: Our usual Raids have 6-12 trainers. Maxing out at 15-16 usually. (our) Conclusion:It seems important that everybody concentrates on 1 gym better on 1 Raid. This brings the advantage that you can influence the EX Raid time. The disadvantage is, that if there spawns no Raid in your choosen time you cannot give it a try. Here it is good if you have a back-up gym and put the deadline to when the last eggs appear (5:45pm for us).Raid LVL doesnt matter, we had invites from T2, T4 and T5.Its not guaranteed that you trigger a EX Raid. There are some factors that we don´t know yet or gyms pre-choosen by Niantic (so not all park gyms can host). So here we recommend to leave out failed gyms the next week and focus on the next gym. TLDR: From our tests we decided the best strategy for "EX Raid trigger trial" would be: Try to prioritize gyms that hosted EX Raids before, try to get as many accounts as possible to do the same Raid (regardless of Raid level). Time of that Raid = EX Raid time. Find Arenas with http://ift.tt/XHjgOz . If 1 gym does not spawn a EX Raid in your trial, don´t try again the following week but move on to another gym. We have 100 players in town of wich around 30 are quite active. I´d say around 30 accounts at 1 Raid is enough to trigger a EX Raid (we had another small town nearby triggering with just 12 but the usual raid just has 6 players). You may have to upscale this numbers for big citys. Sorry for any mistakes in the language and in formatting. Extra InfoOf the 26 invites i got the data of 23 players. There were 12 bronze holders, 7 silver and 4 gold. I know only of 2 other gold badge players that were left out.Levels were: 40,39,38,38,37,36,36,35,35,35,34,34,34,33,33,33,33,31,30,29,29,26,26 wich gives an average of 32,2.If you want to give it a try, one more thing that was important for us: Give the trainers a good head start so they have time to come to the location. Don´t try to scramble players in 10 minutes. We decided on a time window that everyody knew and as soon as the egg showed up i pinged everybody in Whatsapp. To keep an eye out for eggs you can either get a local trainer to watch the or deploy one of your Pokemon in the gym so you can check periodicly. Of course a city wide Raid scanner works as well.... via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2qPbFIL
