"Drop rates for items from Pokestops vs. gyms"

#PokemonGO: Today, I spun a total of 218 gyms and stops (123 gyms and 95 stops) to get a rough idea of the current drop rates of items, particularly revives since there has been a number of people complaining that they are finding it harder to find revives or other items.Items from Pokestops (95 total spins, 305 total items):Itemraw number% of all dropsRegular Balls16052.5%Great Ball5217.0%Raspberry3110.2%Ultra Ball185.9%Pinap Berry165.2%Nanab Berry154.9%Potion82.6%Super Potion41.3%Revive31.0%Hyper Potion00%Max Revive00%Items from Gyms (123 total spins, 548 total items):ItemRaw Number% of all dropsRegular Ball21439.1%Potion6912.6%Raspberry6612.0%Nanab Berry509.1%Revive386.9%Great Ball315.7%Pinap Berry274.9%Super Potion132.4%Max Potion122.2%Hyper Potion101.8%Ultra Ball101.8%Max Revive81.5%Pokestops have a high percentage of items that are balls and berries (about 95% of all items), and have very low drop rates of revives and potions (combined, about 5%).In gyms, we suddenly see that all potions combined make up 19% of all item drops and revives (both regular and max) make up 8.4%In the 95 spins of stops, only 3 spins yielded revives of any kind, a rate of 3.1%.In the 123 spins of gyms, 39 spins yielded revives, a rate of 31.7%, about 10 times as often as Pokestops.Unsurprisingly there was also a general trend towards getting more revives if you spin a gym that's controlled by your team or that you have a higher gym badge level. These are both conditions that mean you get more items per spin.Gym badge levelpercentage of spins with a reviveBronze28.9%Silver26.7%Gold42.4%Team control of gym% of spins with a reviveDifferent team24.3%Same team41.5%At the very ends of the spectrum, spinning a bronze level gym not controlled by your team only drops a revive 25% of the time, while 57.9% of spins at gold level gyms controlled by your team yielded a revive or max revive.tl;dr: If you want more potions and revives, spin more gyms, preferably gold gyms that are controlled by your team. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2s6lqTk
