"Ever done a "no pokeball" run?"

Have you or anyone you've heard of ever played through an entire Pokemon game without using a single pokeball? In gen 1 this could be accomplished by choosing your starter, let's say Bulbasaur, then after you beat Brock you can buy a Magikarp and evolve it into gyrados, also around this time you get to choose your fossil, helix maybe. Then after you beat Misty and surge you can pick up an Eevee in Celadon and immediately evolve it with a stone from the department store, I'd probably go Jolteon. Then you can go to the game corner and buy an Abra/Clefairy/Dratini/Scyther/Porygon to round out your team. Even later in the game you're gifted a Lapras and are able to get an old Amber for Aerodactyl. I'm probably still forgetting some.So without using a single pokeball it's possible to have a team of :VenasaurGyaradosJolteonAlakazamAerodactyl/omastarDragoniteThat's definitely capable of winning the game. You could even impliment nuzlocke type rules to make it even more challenging.Anybody else ever do a run like this? via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2wi0niH
