"Which game has the best designed map?"

I've been replaying AS and have realised the game has a pretty weird design. You do a complete circuit around the West side of the region, often times getting so far away from the starting point that an NPC has to walk you back somewhere. From there, you very awkwardly traverse parts of of the East (with the option to again return to the left side) before having to go to the far right to complete the game. TamashiiHiroka did an analysis of just how janky the sinnoh map here so I won't talk about but it feels just as awkward.In my opinion, the Kalos map and the unova map are probably the best because they have very basic geometric shapes with Kalos' star shape and unova's hexagon/octagon shape which gives your journey a sense of completeness as you loop back to the starting point.Edit: wow there are some really smart people in the comments who have given me a new appreciation for Sinnoh and Hoenn via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2JOq7oU
