"An Avian's Fate (My Pidgey Poem)"

#PokemonGO: This is the tale of a Pidgey of oldA creature so elegant, unmistakenly boldThwarting barrages with the flick of his wingsFor something so small, they're remarkable things Pidgey became a Pidgeotto of yoreHe could now do greater things than beforeThough growing in stature, growing in sizeThis avian still wields the same Pidgey eyes Pidgeotto of yore grew into PidgeotSome say this is common, I say it is notFor pidgeys now rarely achieve such a featTo become a brave bird, evolution complete Ascending so fearlessly up to the skiesA singular tear starts to form in his eyesHe's grinded for candy, now Pidgeot dies EDIT: Sure it gets dark, but it's meant to be a stark contrast for emphasis. It starts as a a celebration of the relationship between trainers and pokemon and the journey to reach greatness, but then takes a turn (as Pokemon Go does) to form a commentary on the odd dynamic of the game that encourages mass, rapid exploitation and abandonment of Pokemon (Pidgeys in particular) in order to "be the best", much like team Rocket. The goal is to remind trainers what we learned from the games and tv show and may have forgotten: Take pride in the pokemon that YOU appreciate, whether or not they are "optimal" or "best-in-class", and don't sacrifice your enjoyment for the grind! via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2mJo4Jn
