"Concept (Art): "Ping System" Making grouping for raids easy"

#PokemonGO: Hey guys a friend of mine and myself have recently gotten back into the game and we noticed that grouping for raids isn't as easy and doesn't happen as naturally as it used to be. There are no ingame mechanics made for smooth grouping before the raid. Right now the only way to group up is to join up with your local communities via 3rd party software (Discord,Facebook,WA....) were people come together to set up times to raid together. While we think this is great and should not be replaced as it brings the local communities closer together, there should also be a incentive ingame for new players and casual players to be able to challenge the bigger raid bosses in the game. This also ultimately strengthens our communities as we are bringing new people together with the veterans to play the game together. Which leads to bigger communities and no one having the feeling of being left out due to the struggle of having to find 3rd party software groups, simply not wanting to join them or not being aware of them even existing. So we thought to ourselves what could we come up with to not completely destroy those groups but also have a way for everyone else to participate. Our solution to the problem is a “Ping system” like we know it from other games. So what would the system do?Players can sign up individually to a raid at any time as long as they are staying nearby which will cause the raid to emit a ping for nearby players to see. This would not be limited to hatching eggs but would be available for hatched raid bosses too. To limit abuse we thought about a 10min cooldown for each ping per person. Visualized hereWhenever a player has opted into the “Ping system” via a signup that is clickable in the standard arena view, he will also be added to the player count next to the raid timer for everyone nearby to see. Making it even easier for people around to notice interest in participation. The usual “A raid is about to begin” notification would also now show how many people signed up. Visualized hereFinally, the nearby feature would also show how many people signed in via the ping system, making it easy to estimate if its worth the time to make your way to the raid even if its longer distances. Visualized hereThe Ping System sign up would not cost a raidpass! It would be an additional feature for players to group up before the actual fight. Only after you gathered enough players to raid and you are ready to fight you'd have to use your raidpass to enter like it always has been. Please tell us what you think of our idea, what could be improved and any other general feedback. I also highly advice to take a look at the pictures to have a better understanding of our concept. Thanks for reading =) via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2P6PwNm
