"Analysis of Gen 4 Gym Defenders"
#PokemonGO: Gen 4 Gym Defender AnalysisGen 4 brings us some interesting gym defenders. While they won't replace Blissey, some of them will find a solid place in the gym meta.Important Notes & DisclaimersI'm not claiming there are any 'good' defenders, demotivation can make gyms easy to take down unless berriedScore is Atack X Defense X Stamina, or simply Attack X BulkI skipped Legendaries and Mythicals, because they cannot be placed into gymsDefenderInitial ScoreBulkWeaknesses*ModFinal ScoreTypeBlissey (for reference)15.1117Fighting0.913.6NormalSnorlax (for reference)11.661Fighting0.910.4NormalTogekiss8.739Poison, Rock, Steel, Electric, Ice1.1510.0Fairy, FlyingHippowdon9.246Water, Grass, Ice1.059.7GroundRhyperior12.452Water x2, Grass x2, Fighting, Ground, Steel, Ice0.759.3Rock, GroundTangrowth9.144Flying, poison, bug, fire, Ice1.09.1GrassGarchomp11.143Ice x2, Dragon, Fairy0.88.9Dragon, GroundMamoswine8.535Fighting, Steel, Fire, Water, Grass0.97.7Ice, GroundImportant notes on this chart and conclusionsI ranked the Gen 4 defenders by their attack times their bulk divided by one million, and to get the final score, I applied a modifier which I explain further below. The modifier is very subjective, and if you disagree with the modifier I highly encourage you to copy this table and apply your own modifier.TogekissI predict Togekiss to be the top defender from Gen 4. It has great stats and no double weakness. Because of its double resistance to fighting, I have given it a 1.15 modifier.HippowdonHippowdon is very bulky, no double weaknesses, and it is not weak to any of the most common gym attackers. I gave it a 1.05 modifier because of its low number of weaknesses. I put Hippowdon in 2nd place, very close to Togekiss - if not tied.RhyperiorRhyperior has the highest score of all Gen 4 defenders, but a well-known double weakness to Water and Grass works against it. I gave it a modifier of 0.75 because of this.TangrowthTangrowth will most likely be attacked by a fire-type attacker. I gave it a modifer of 1.0.GarchompAnother Gen 4 pokemon with very high stats, it suffers from a double-weakness to Ice, similar to Dragonite. I gave it a modifier of 0.8 because of this.MamoswineMamoswine has very good stats, but it received a modifier of 0.9 because of its weakness to fighting.SummaryAlthough none will rival Blissey, I think all of these Gen 4 pokemon will be frequent defenders in gyms when they come out, particularly Togekiss and Hippowdon, and Rhyperior because of its high CP. One interesting thing to note, is that all of the top five are weak to Ice.What do you think of these defenders?[EDITS] Added Blissey and Snorlax for reference via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2NheMjs
