"The A to Z Analysis of Last Resort and Eevee Community Day Guide"
#PokemonGO: Our first double Community Day, there's a lot to be said about the Evolution Pokemon's featured day(s).TLDR Make an Eevee your Buddy right now!! Espeon may be very very good.GamePress's official August 2018 Community Day Guide is out with all CD-related information compiled in one place. Before I dive into everything we currently know on Last Resort, here's a list of other things the guide and website includes;Recommendations for where to play.CD and Eevee-related research explanations.Items to bring (Starpieces- but probably don't buy the Great Box)CD Legacy Special Box Cost Analysis (as soon as the box is released in the Shop)Analysis on Gen 4 Eeveelution's place in the meta.Evolution requirements for current and future Eeveelutions (including tips for ensuring you get Espeon)u/purportedlypie's math on how many Eevee to evolve to ensure you get one of each.A breakdown on when to Pinap.Perfect IV Eevee search strings.and everything we currently know about Last Resort, summarized below. Sources, Infographics, and a more detailed write up can be found in the full article! There's info to be gained here for players of all varieties. Make sure to share with your local community so everyone can make the most of Community Day in whatever ways that means to them.Last Resort is currently being teased as a 2-bar charge move with 90 base Power. This is comparable to Squirtle's Hydro Cannon, so we ran the math for a few Eeveelutions if Last Resort winds up being identical to Hydro Cannon in its final form. Remember, it can always change before CD starts.A full breakdown can be found in the article but know that Espeon and Flareon will both break the top 10 neutral DPS without weather boost. In Partly Cloudy, Espeon provides the highest neutral DPS in the game and Flareon lands right behind the top 2 generalists in the game. This is crazy.Start walking Eevee today! After you walk one for 10km and get a 2nd candy, switch to another and do it again. Make sure to make them you buddy again before evolving. If there's a change to Last Resort, you aren’t required to make those Eevee into Espeon. You can still evolve them into a random Gen 1 Eeveelution, or save for Gen 4 in the future. We’ll continue to crunch numbers to find other uses for Last Resort Eeveelutions. They’ll be great generalists for fighting gyms without the Rare Candy costs of the other top options. A fully powered Espeon will be a reasonable option for any Raid Bosses that don’t resist it, similar to Rayquaza, Mewtwo and Gengar. Again, check out the charts in the article for the full breakdown.Vaporeon and Umbreon are already honorable mentions on our Defenders Tier List. Last Resort isn’t going to make them the new best defenders, but it does give them better damage output, especially since it provides a neutral move to their natural counters, rather than Not Very Effective damage. A powerful Normal-type move also opens the door to these Pokemon being used as generalists in Pokedraft.Lastly, there’s Z-Moves. Get it? A to Z? I don’t see Z-Moves coming to Pokemon Go anytime soon but Last Resort corresponds to Eevee’s Z-Move, Extreme Evoboost, doubling all its stats. There’s a longer explanation in the full guide. The evolved forms can’t perform the Z-Move, so if you want to keep a Last Resort unevolved Eevee in your collection for a few years, there’s at least a justification.Eevee Community Day could mean a lot of things for the future of Community Day and Pokemon GO in general. It Is the first CD featured Pokemon that isn’t a 10 km egg or starter Pokemon… other than the fact that it will be a starter Pokemon with the release of Let’s Go Eevee! and used to be a part of the 10 km egg pool at the game’s launch two years ago. Still, this opens the door for other Pokemon to be included and receive a special day and shiny status. Eevee is also the first Pokemon featured with a future evolution, paving the way for Ralts, Rhyhorn, and other Pokemon with Gen 4 evolutions. It is time to “explore the wonders of evolution!” What that means is anyone’s guess. Though with a rumored Gen 4 evolution event on the horizon, I’ll keep my fingers crossed.Remember to share with your local community if you found this helpful. Help keep everyone up to date with everything there is to know about our first 2-day Community Day! There’s info inside for Trainers of all levels!EDIT: Adding this because there's some distrust in the official Pokemon.com announcement in the comments. Both Niantic and Pokemon.com have had bad information in the past, unfortunately. No where does Niantic state Eeveelutions won't be receiving Last Resort. By walking some Eevee, you can prepare for Last Resort Espeon IF it happens and winds up being a relevant move. If not, the only thing lost is a few Buddy candy from a different Pokemon. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2APl8ES
