"About the future of the Go+ ..."

#PokemonGO: Dear travellers,I think it is about time that the road speaks about the Go+ and its future. To be precise: The Go+ is about to be replaced by the Pokéball+. Yes, replaced, for those of you that didn't know.I've been to several large stores in Germany in the past week (amongst others Gamestop, MediaMarkt and Saturn) searching for a Go+. All of them gave the same answer: Out of stock and not to be refilled - not because they don't want to, but because they can't. Nintendo simply doesn't provide the resellers anymore. It's not even available on amazon.Imho, the Pokéball is in many cases inferior to the Go+. It's larger, the battery life is worse, it's more expensive and simply not as inconspicuous. Imagine being at work, wanting to catch and spin a little bit without anyone noticing. Little clip on your belt that vibrates from time to time? No deal. A hand-sized Pokéball? Get ready for being laughed at. If it will be tolerated at all.Of course, Nintendo's motivation is clear - they want to increase the sales of the Pokéball+. What they seem to ignore is that - due to the reasons listed above - Pokémon Go players that do not own a switch will be unlikely to switch (haha) to a Pokéball+, thus opening the market for cheap clones even more. As of today, you can easily find clones on popular reselling sites as amazon, eBay and AliExpress for half the original listing price. According to my own research (and the reviews), these fakes often have worse connection stability and battery life - but imho, a worse-working clone is still better than that bulky ball.What are your thoughts, fellow travellers? via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2CKDia8
