"The Neverending Gyarados"

#PokemonGO: This might be a weird thing to complain about, but I have 6 Gyaradoses. It's a cool pokemon for sure, but over the course of six gyaradoses, I got pretty tired of seeing and walking around this goofy fish. This story dates back to when Go first came out. In the first few months, with all the hype going around, I managed to farm up 400 candy to get my first Gyarados. Nothing too crazy, but it was my first mon to break 2k cp. I went out to college and farming these karps became easier, and the buddy system was around so I eventually farmed out another 400. I had some solid gym attackers and defenders, so it felt good. Just after Johto came out, I ended up quitting the game. Life caught up with me, didn't get a chance to play much at that point.Fast forward to about 3-4 months ago. We're out visiting a campus to play humans vs zombies. This being a new campus, and us spending the day walking around, our friend convinced us to try PokemonGo again. This steamrolled into my current addiction to the game. During this time, I progressed through the mew quest and found that I had to collect more candy. It's easier this time, though. There's pinaps and these fish are everywhere. Eventually, I get the Gyarados and I think, "good, now I don't have to deal with this anymore."Literally not two days after catching my Mew, I find a shiny Magikarp. It was bittersweet. I was excited to get the infamous Red Gyarados, but I was also super annoyed because I basically had 10 candy by that point. So the grind continued, another 400 candy and walking the golden flippyboi.I get my big red, flippy boi, power him up to a respectable 2300cp to put in gyms, and am finally rid of this fish forever.About a week later, my friend says to me, "Hey, that magikarp we just caught was 100% IV." At this point, I considered not even evolving it. My annoyance was bested by my drive to have a good 100% Gyarados (which is my first and only 100% as of now). The grind continued. After spending the 400 to evolve it, and probably another 200ish to power it up to 3000 cp (on that mad stardust grind right now), I thought I had closed the book on this fish for a while. This was 2 weeks ago. This morning I found a Gyarados on my drive to work. THIS FISH WONT LEAVE ME ALONE. via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2y905IJ
