"The Pokemon 2019 Switch title has the potential to one of the greatest exploration games of all time"

This may go without saying, but the potential is there. Gamefreak have all the building blocks to make the most stunning Pokemon game of all time. Pokemon Let's Go is a very small game in terms of content compared to the handheld Pokemon games, but it lays the ground work and tells us a lot about what the new game will probably look/feel like.Pokemon Let's Go was a clearly a "test" run to get their feet in the wet making a Pokemon game on a console. Can you imagine all the things they could implement in a fully fleshed out Pokemon game for the Switch? Think of what was done with Breath of the Wild. While I don't think the upcoming game will have that big of an open world feel, I do think it has the potential to be comparatively massive in terms of towns and routes.I would love to see a bunch of areas that you don't have to encounter over the course of the story. Areas where you have to truly go searching for to find strong, unique Pokemon lingering about. Imagine having to surf a decent distance to a lone island where a Legendary bird is known to hang around, but since they will have a life of their own, it's not a guarantee they will be there. That feeling you get when you stumble upon a Pokemon that isn't in one static place, similar to the legendary dogs. Think of walking around and randomly seeing a Ho-Oh shadow on the ground because he just flew over you or near you?How amazing would it be if they allowed you to truly find (or at least their base forms) every single Pokemon in the wild? It would require a lot of areas, but most certainly possible given the power of the Switch compared to the DS. I feel like they probably want to have an extremely strong showing for their 8th generation game considering what console it's landing on.This all, of course, depends on the budget, time of production and general resources they were allowed to make the 8th generation. Maybe it will just be a typical Pokemon game but slightly bigger, and that's alright too. But they have a chance to make something that people will talk about 20, 30 years down the line like everyone does with the original Red/Blue games, which doesn't happen too often in the history of things. There are so many things I haven't said of ideas that they could put into the game, but hopefully they've created something special. What do you think about this games potential and what would you enjoy seeing? What kind of mechanics could they implement for you to make the game an instant classic? via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2DOq4da
