"I didn't make this up. Outstanding coincidences between finnish language and pokemon world"
Watching pokemon anime and playing the games in finland has been more interesting experience in Finland than in rest of the world. Since some words used in the games and anime make the experience little odd and down right hilarious.Kanto, in finnish, means a tree stump. So gen 1 games take place in tree stump region from my point of view. XDJohto, in finnish, means an electric cable, This was odd especially when anime op ended with a shout out " NYT ALKAA POKEMON JOHTO" or in english "NOW STARTS POKEMON ELECTRIC CABLE!!!" It also resembles the word "johtoon" meaning "one takes the lead" in other words POKEMON TAKES THE LEAD!!! XDIn Finland our word for quickly is "pikaisesti" (lit "to do quickly"). If one goes down the stairs in finland and mutters: quick, quick, quick; she or he says instead "pika, pika, pika," Our parents, while waiting to something to download would mutter, "Noniin pika pika pika" = "Come on, quick quick quick." XDAnd MOST UNPROBABLE COINCIDENCE EVER!!!: Our pokemon dub dubs the human characters but lets pokemon to have their english dub voices. In the episode "Emolga the irresistible!", at 14.00 min, Bianca accidentally makes a Scolipede angry. Scolipede chases after our heroes screaming. This screaming sounds excactly like scolipede is yelling "ULOS!, ULOS,ULOS,ULOS", literally means "GET OUT! GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUT!" I had to check out the original english dub to see if finnish team wasn't just playing with our heads. O_o via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2RuHqj0
