"Trainers in my city have thus far raised ~$2,760 for the recent wildfires in Southern California"
#PokemonGO: The holidays aren't always the most cheerful time of the year, especially with the recent wildfires that have left many homeless in the Los Angeles/Ventura County area. It's a beautiful thing to see people come together, especially in times of need. The PoGo community where I live is very active and organize through platforms such as Slack and Discord. Being part of these groups adds a key element to the game, as coordinating meet-ups for raid times or trading is essential to getting the full experience out of playing.A member of one of the Slack groups I follow put together a "12 days of fire relief" fundraiser in conjunction with the current holiday event that has not only been intensely fun, but incredibly successful in raising funds (~$2,760 atm) that will go directly toward victims of the fires. To give you an idea of how amazing this event has been, on Sunday alone the #miltrain successfully completed 84 raids from 6am to a little after 7:15pm. That's 13 hours of raiding!!!I love Pokemon and this community of awesome trainers! I met so many people during this fundraiser, all spreading the poke holiday cheer to such a high frequency! Our power is immense!Just thought I'd share. Thanks for reading! via /r/pokemongo http://bit.ly/2CCd6Oq
