"Feebas Research Day may be a reference to the main series."

#PokemonGO: In the Gen 3 main series games (specifically Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald), Feebas can be found in Route 119, but only at 6 particular fishing spots on the route. The catch (no pun intended) is that the 6 spots are not permanent but instead change with another thing in the games. To make things harder, there's no way to know or predict which 6 spots can have Feebas, and the 6 spots that can have Feebas aren't guaranteed to have Feebas (not 100% spawn rate).The announcement of Feebas day 3-hour window says that "Feebas migrate quickly during Limited Research, so exploring is key!" From the sound of that, Feebas may not be available from every pokestop quest (bad for rural players), but they may rotate/regenerate every hour or so (good for rural players).Not sure if this is how it will work, or if intentional by Niantic, but if so I appreciate the reference to the main series mechanic. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://bit.ly/2SQ1bm2
