Personally, I have 50 Silvers saved up and I'm going to empty that stock on Groudon. Consider the following:1) Groudon is the best Pokemon of its type of all time. Not only is it monstrous in stats, stature and style (is that a sexy shiny or what?) but it will remain excellent in the future. Thus, it is valuable candy to stockpile (even if not immediately utilize, if you are waiting for Precipice Blades).2). Groudon has a massive target circle. This makes it easy to hit not just Great but consistent Excellent throws on one. This makes using a Silver less risky than usual because the combination of Silver + Excellent + Curve gives you a high percentage catch rate.3). Unlike Lugia or Kyogre, Groudon neither levitates nor jukes left to right. Compared to most bosses, Groudon is really quite steady. Again, this makes it likely you can land consistent, Excellent throws with just a little patience and practice.4). Groudon is truly a beast in PvP. For those who want to go all-in on the master league, all the extra candy you need is here to be had, right now, if you are bold enough to double it with Silver Pinap catches.With all that said, I know Silver Pinaps are rare so you won't want to blow your whole stock on a single boss. I suggest a strategy of gradual application, say 3 per boss. For example, assuming you have 10 balls to work with, you can safely try to catch it with 2 Pinaps to start, then escalate to 3 Silver Pinaps and finally 5 Golden Razz throws to seal the deal, thus giving yourself 5 chances at doubling your candy and 5 more chances to still make the catch if the odds aren't in your favor.
