"Lack of Spinda Research?"

#PokemonGO: Has anyone else noticed a huge lack of these? I live in a city with a few hundred stops and I have been checking nearly all of these stops almost every single day for the Spinda research. I'm not finding one. People in my local chats aren't finding them. Is this common around the world?
