"Will Pokémon Go always be about just collecting?"

#PokemonGO: I think many people play Pokémon GO because it’s a Pokémon game, and not because of the actual content you can find within the game. I’m probably guilty of this. Raiding felt like the endgame content when it came out, but hardly anyone does them anymore around here and overall interest in the game seems to be dropping. Shiny hunting seems to be the lone activity that everyone does, but shouldn’t shiny hunting be a side activity and not the main activity?Maybe I’m alone here, but I yearn for a true RPG-style PoGo where we have a team of 6 and walk around the real world, actually fighting other Pokémon, not just chucking berries and balls at them. I think there’d be a market for it and they already have the infrastructure for it.We have very little uses for our strongest Pokémon:.This has always been my biggest pet peeve. We farm stardust to power up our best Pokémon but where/when can we actually get to use them? Unless you’re short-manning raids, you don’t need strong, high-level Pokémon. I regularly see all these in-depth spreadsheets and infographics on TSR with all these different numbers and such, and I can’t help but wonder why any of this is necessary anymore. If you regularly raid with 5+ people, you will win nearly every raid you attempt with just the recommended team. I think that’s a gleaming problem with the game. There needs to be a PvE feature in the game where you can battle NPC trainers that get harder and harder as you progress. I know the whole battle tower thing has been suggested before, but I think it could be implemented somehow and breathe some life into what appears to be a dying game that is focusing on shinies. Shinies are fun, I enjoy collecting them, but they deter from what should be the point of any Pokémon game and that is to be the very best. There’s currently nothing in the game that you can be the very best at, unless you do PvP (which no one does in my area either), but that rarely showcases your strongest Pokémon. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://bit.ly/2MecHZi
