"Let's be real for 5 minutes, Niantic aren't bullying you during events or on a regular basis."

#PokemonGO: I didn't use to comment on things on here, I usually just went here for information and the occasional feel good post about somebody with their first shiny or some incredible luck. Lately I've noticed alot more complaint posts though, I am sure these happened alot before as well I probably just didn't notice them, but some of these are just plain out wrong, misinformed without listening to the informed among them, and just straight out looking asking for free stuff, for what is in reality, no good reason at all. So this post is about YOU/US and why those posts get's nowhere and doesn't help anybody anywhere at all. What I will try to do is answer a few of those questions here, and hopefully players will think about these things as we move into more awesome events such as the ones we got going right now.1st problem: The water event and the missing WhismurLoads of people were wondering where all the Whismur went during the the Water Festival event. We suddenly get a Field Research for Jirachi which tells us to catch Whismur but Niantic decreased the spawn of them? WHY?Well the answer is simple. Unlucky timing. For events like the Water Festival more Pokémon are going to spawn of a specific type. For the Water Festival more water Pokémon were going to spawn and therefore the rate of more common Pokémon like Spearow, Pidgey, Whismur, Sentret, and such were decreased in order to make room for other Pokémon such as Krabby, Slowpoke, and Shellder. These two things (the field research and the Water Festival) just unfortunately hit each other. We needed Whismur for our task but had trouble finding them as the water pokemon took over their spawn-rate. Now after we finally start finding whismur we suddenly need Psychic (and Metal) where Slowpoke would have been nice, unlucky, but not something that Niantic did just to have you have a bad day. Let's be real. What I want people to remember from this is that during those type of events some Pokémon are just going to spawn less, that is how it is. Bad timing this time around for sure, but we got an awesome event to take up our time, until the event ended and we started seeing our little bunny friend again.2nd problem: Coins and free-to-playThis is a hard one to get into as it is SO opinion based. Let me say straight out I am not afraid of throwing money after the game as I enjoy it alot, I fully understand some people don't want to or can't afford it and that is totally fine, deep respect for people who are super efficient with no money investment into the game at all! BUT, and here it comes, asking Niantic to give you upwards of 500 coins a day is a FAR stretch and you know it. I totally understand you want to get all those incubators for your amazing eggs or getting a few extra raid passes for that sweet shiny Ray, Raikou, Suicune, Entei you name it! But please do keep in mind that at the end of the day Niantic also has to make money, and since the game is free to download and VERY playable without investing money into it, giving out more coins is far from needed for you to enjoy the game as is. Sure I agree the game is more fun with more incubators and the chance to do more raids, but if investing into it isn't a possibility for you, sorry for the reality check, but blaming the creators for being money hungry just because you want to play a game in a way you can't afford is childish. POGO is a fantastic free-to-play game, always rated as one of the best if not the best mobile game and up their contesting games on other platforms as well. It's hard to find something just like in the first example on what I want people to take from this besides, just be reasonable with your complaints. Just because you've played the game for a long time for free doesn't mean you are entitled to more coins or anything else. Sure, there are better ways Niantic could hand out those 50 coins a day, and having them "blocked" if you will, behind something that is out of your control is a bit too much even imo. But there are ways to give you those extra coins, it isn't much but the few ones I've shown this to so far have been very happy with it. If you got an android Google Panel is where the money is at. What you do is you setup an account and the app will give you a survey once in a while and pay you for it in google credit (the credit you can use in the play shop on androids to buy Poké-coins!) This isn't one of those 20 minute surveys for 0,25$ but actually a 5-10 second survey giving you up to 0.50$ (highest I've personally experienced) PER SURVEY. That means by getting a survey a day and let's say it pays out just 0.25$ you would get an extra raid pass every 4 days! that is a 50% increase in your free-to-play playstyle! And the best thing is you aren't even limited to just 1 survey per day! You can get multiple! My personal record is 4! which paid for a bit more than 1 whole raid pass! Being in a bigger city or going past some stores helps you get more surveys, answering more questions helps you get more credit, so if you do decide to get Google Panel maybe tweak the answers a bit, just for those extra incubators! There is an app for Apple products as well that does this but from what I've heard it takes super long to answer the surveys, they don't come often, and you don't get much, I might be wrong here as this is all 2nd hand knowledge. I don't know what that app is called unfortunately. I know this whole thing is kinda opposite of what I said about "giving out more coins" but Niantic still get the money, and you still save it this way.3rd and final problem: the Unown 10Km eggsTbh this is the worst one I've seen. As I am writting this we are just barely over 24 hours into the first ultra week which gives you a LOW chance (we know this from the announcements) to get U, L, T, R or A Unown in 10km eggs, and I already see a stream of post about how Niantic supposedly should have lowered the chances of getting 10km eggs or complaints about them not being a 100% chance. Are you kidding me? The chances are exactly the same, you just feel unfairly treated now cause you want them more than usual. That is how our brains work, we are more likely to remember bad things as they have bigger impact on us than good things do. Here is an article that talks about it, if you don't like this site for some reason, go ahead and google it your own way, this is what science and psychologists point towards https://ift.tt/2NNUyRt I said, JUST BARELY 24 HOURS IN AND WE HEAR COMPLAINTS, like come on man. That is just insane, do you really feel you need to be spoon-fed that much? All eggs are half distance! 1km is VERY LITTLE, the average adult human walks just barely 8km a day. That is without doing the extra work for POGO. The 10km eggs are still spawning in at the same rate, you hatch everything faster so you actually have a higher chance of getting 10km eggs than you usual do, just because you rotate through eggs faster and therefore get to see more eggs coming in. Unown also isn't supposed to show up in the first 3 eggs, if you are, and I quote the news here "extraordinarily lucky, you might hatch Unown forms U, L, T, R, and A from 10km Eggs." EXTRAORDINARILY LUCKY. The message indicates you probably aren't going to get all 5 of them, that is just how it is. If you want a higher chance of getting it, then play more, throw a few coins after those incubators and walk, walk, walk! If you don't have the time or the money, just as I talked about regarding spending money, then parts of this game just isn't going to play into your favor, that's life.I don't mean to hurt people with this post, I just want people to stop complaining about ridiculous things SOLELY for the benefits of themselves. Do I believe this post will fix that? No, but having posts like this to keep the others in check once in a while is need for the uncalled for complaints not to go to rampage on here.Temporary Edit: it is now 11:35PM here and I am heading to bed! I would love to discuss these views and hear yours once I get up from my beauty sleep ❤. Will try to answer as many as possible no matter what your comment may be. :-) via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2zMhWqd
