"Does anyone else wish there weren’t competitive regionals?"
#PokemonGO: I’ll grant you right off the bat that this might not be a gigantic, game-breaking problem. But given the fact that Heracross and Tropius are actually pretty good in Ultra League and Great League (at the time of this writing, ranked #12 and #11 on PVPoke respectively) does anybody else think it’s a problem that these are both regionals?I’m not arguing that either of these Pokemon are impossible to counter or anything like that, but they definitely have their place in both leagues. I just think it’s not in the best interest of a competitive game for certain useful Pokemon to be limited only to certain parts of the world, because that gives an advantage to certain people just because of where they live or their ability to travel to either the places where those regionals reside or certain Go Fest or Safari Zone events.Although I think many people would agree that the ideal would be to just not have regionals at all, I think it’s clear that Niantic wants the concept to stay in the game. So as a solution, I think that once a regional is proven to be useful enough in any of the leagues or official Niantic cups, it should get a worldwide release in an event, as a raid boss, from a research task, or something of the like.
