"So I finally finished Pokemon Sword..."

I have been so excited for a new Pokemon game on the Switch ever since the console was announced. I'm a huge Pokemon fan, I've played the games pretty much nonstop since the 90's when we got Red & Blue.But man.... I don't want to be a downer, but Sword and Shield are just not good. I defended the game in comment sections over the months when we were getting new trailers and gameplay footage, bolding out that the game will be good, and I just haven't enjoyed my journey in Galar whatsoever.I know Pokemon games are not supposed to have amazing stories, but the story in Galar was just meh. The maps and characters weren't interesting at all either, I got tired of the same Hop animation over and over whenever you had to continue the story.I'm really hoping the DLC is good, I'm personally against the idea of locking new legendaries behind a paywall. However, any extra content to a Pokemon game is always worth checking out.Sorry for the long post, it comes across like a huge rant. But honestly, I'm just disappointed with the game more than anything. What are your thoughts now the game has been out for quite awhile? Anybody else in a similar boat as myself?
